Sarah Rebecca Meyer

I’m Sarah Rebecca Meyer, a medical informatician, veterinarian, and software engineer working at the intersection of AI, eHealth, and biomedical data science. My work focuses on building intelligent, adaptive software systems that make complex clinical data interpretable and actionable.

I work as Scientific Associate for AI at Swisstransplant, where I work on research and AI-supported methods in organ donation and transplantation, contributing to clinical studies and driving the introduction of AI into medical applications. In parallel, I am a researcher in eHealth at the Software Engineering Group, University of Bern, where I lead the Hasler Stiftung-funded VetAnaLog project on automated veterinary anaesthesia records and the first machine-learning-ready veterinary anaesthesia cohort.

My background bridges veterinary medicine, clinical research, and software engineering, giving me a unique perspective on how to design AI systems that are both scientifically rigorous and practically usable in healthcare and life science environments.

Outside of research and coding, I’m an active showjumper, competing nationally and internationally up to 1.45 m level with my two horses — a balance of precision, discipline, and intuition that mirrors the mindset I bring to my scientific work.
