I’m Sarah Rebecca Meyer, a medical informatician, veterinarian, and software engineer working at the intersection of AI, bioinformatics, and biomedical data science. My work focuses on building intelligent, adaptive software systems that make complex biological and clinical data interpretable and actionable.
I’m currently part of the BioAI4LCMS project — an Innosuisse-funded collaboration between the University of Bern, the HES-SO Valais–Wallis School of Engineering and the company Genedata — where we’re developing AI-powered “Bioinformatics-as-a-Service” (BAAS) tools to revolutionize how biopharmaceutical data is processed and analyzed. Our goal is to create adaptive, scalable software systems that integrate advanced machine learning, real-time data processing, and self-assessing algorithms to automate and optimize biopharma workflows.
My background bridges veterinary medicine, clinical research, and software engineering, giving me a unique perspective on how to design AI systems that are both scientifically rigorous and practically usable in healthcare and life science environments.
Outside of research and coding, I’m an active showjumper, competing nationally and internationally up to 1.45 m level with my two horses — a balance of precision, discipline, and intuition that mirrors the mindset I bring to my scientific work.
